Two Brands, One WebsitePunt Road Wines & Napoleone Cider using the same WithWine API
Punt Road Wines were looking to build a new website and move to a new niche ecommerce platform called WithWine. The platform is specifically designed for wineries and allows them to manage their products, orders and customers around vintages and runs which unique to the wine industry.

WithWine is primarily a Wordpress plugin that allows wineries to manage their products and orders and embed customer facing elements like products, product categories, shoping cart and checkout. It's a great platform for wineries as it's built specifically for their needs.
The downside is that, because it is a Wordpress plugin, it can be limiting in terms of design and good useability.
On top of that, Punt Road Wines also has a sister brand called Napoleone Cider. Both brands are unique but we saw a way to share components between the two websites to create efficiencies in development and maintenance.
StudioBuster developed a new site that is fast, user-friendly, integrates with the WithWine API and shares components with Napoleone Cider site.

Working in conjunction with Punt Road Wine's designer Dan Bussell and WithWine's engineers StudioBuster was able to build out more user friendly components that were more brand sensitive than the out of the box components the WithWine plugin was able to offer.
When it came time to replace the Napoleone site, our strategy of reusing the components developed during the Punt Road Wines build meant that a lot of efficiencies in development could be made.
The new Napoleone site that is also fast, user-friendly, integrates with the WithWine API and shares components with the Punt Road Wines site.

Keeping things minimal and clean, we designed a new site that is fast, user-friendly, integrates with the WithWine API and shares components with Napoleone Cider site.

WithWine's Wordpress based shoping cart was slow and limiting in it's customisation of design and user experience.

StudioBuster developed a mobile experience that considered the small portable screen and was fast to load.

On top of integration with WithWine products, product categories and checkout, we also integrated tasting lists, subscriptions, punters club memberships and mailing lists.

WithWine is not a Content Management System. It handles products, orders and customers but not pages, posts or media and usually relies on Wordpress to handle other content by integrating with a plugin.
Since we weren't using Wordpress, StudioBuster provided a solution using the Decap CMS to manage the other content on the site. This allowed us to build a fast, secure and easy to manage website that was completely deprecated Wordpress.
Image asset management and CDN was acheived by integrating Decap CMS with Cloudinary. Video assets were hosted through Vimeo.

The collaboration between Punt Road Wines, Napoleone Cider, and StudioBuster demonstrates the power of thoughtful design and development. By leveraging the WithWine API and creating reusable components, we were able to deliver two unique, high-performing websites that meet the specific needs of each brand while maintaining efficiency and scalability.
The integration of Decap CMS and Cloudinary further enhanced the user experience, ensuring fast, secure, and easily manageable platforms. This case study highlights how tailored solutions can drive success and set a strong foundation for future growth.
